Sanyo Ecr 505 Cash Register Manual

My ECR 365 is locked-up. It was working fine at the end of the day. Next day it's locked-up when I turned it on. Any key I press gives me an E7 error. There are no incomplete transactions and the turn-key (mode lock) is in the correct position. I've tried setting the mode to program and pressing the 'no sale' key. This only gave me the E7 error. In fact, any key I press in any mode gives me an E7 error. I just can't get away from it. If you have any idea how I can get this working it will be truly appreciated. Many thanks

I agree with the previous answer. You have probably started something in the wrong mode that needs to be finished. But We have not worked on Sanyo registers in over 5 years due to their pull out of the US market

Perharps another bad mode set ? try X and Z pos, anything better ? Is the seller correctly set ? If not, and as I assume the battery is in good condition (I assume you never disconnect the ECR from the wall, and there were no main failure during the week-end), I'm afraid you have to do a reset. Perharps it will be only a minor reset, but if you have to do a master reset, you will lose ALL DATAS AND PROGRAMMINGS !!! As I don't know much about this brand, I can't say more. Try the modes I gave at the beginning first.

Thank you very much for your answer. The Z & X modes are exactly the same.. they give the E7 error. No known issues with the seller. The till has been functioning for years without a problem. All we did was get one Tax rate changed. As for the battery, I have no idea, and I do not know how to check (especially as I cannot run the resgister's self check protocol); the machine is always plugged-in to the wall (except for brief and rare occasions), however, we do get quite a few power outages. Reprogramming is not an issue (we don't use much of the programming fuctionality), the time this machine is down is an issue! I would like to go for the RESET, but I haven't go a clue how to do that. There doesn't seem to be any information in the user manual on how to reset. Even if we loose all the programming, it's not much of a loss! Can you help?
